Seattle grants amnesty to legalize existing backyard cottages

Part of the new backyard cottage regulations for the city of Seattle, which allow for the permit and construction of detached ADUs, also provide a way for existing unauthorized ADUs to be legalized. Homeowners have until June 30th to apply for a permit, and thru the end of 2010 to complete inspections.
