USA Today – Seattle Backyard Cottages cover story

Seattle Backyard Cottages graced the cover of USA Today, today. Interesting article goes into the economics of it, such as build cost (though the example they cite is an architect designing and building it himself) and rental income. Also, the effects on affordability by increasing density. In Seattle’s case, that density increase potential is in the range of many tens of thousands of new units, though most credible estimates of annual numbers being built are in the 40-60 range.
